- Aramco’s expansion follows acquisition of 40% stake in GO Pakistan last year
- Company says new stations are supporting jobs and local economic activity
KARACHI: Saudi Aramco has opened its 50th retail fuel station in Pakistan, its local partner Gas & Oil Pakistan Limited (GO) said on Tuesday, marking a milestone in the Saudi energy firm’s fast-growing presence in the country’s fuel retail market.
Aramco entered Pakistan’s downstream sector last year after acquiring a 40 percent stake in GO, one of the country’s largest oil marketing companies. The partnership gave Aramco access to GO’s existing network of more than 1,200 retail sites, enabling a rapid rollout of Aramco-branded stations at a time when Pakistan’s fuel consumption and transport infrastructure continue to expand.
The latest station, located along Islamabad’s Srinagar Highway, is part of this continuing expansion. Senior management and industry officials attended an inauguration ceremony marking what the companies described as a significant step in expanding retail fuel access along major transport corridors.
“Beyond expanding its network, the Aramco new station contributes to the creation of employment opportunities, local skill development, and economic activity in the surrounding community,” Aramco said in a statement.
“Each new outlet supports operational staff, customer service teams, and supply chain partners, reinforcing the broader socio-economic impact of the investment.”
Aramco launched its first retail outlet in Lahore in 2024 and now operates 50 stations across multiple provinces. GO remains responsible for network operations, fuel distribution and logistics, while Aramco provides brand standards, product specifications and retail experience protocols.
“This growth demonstrates the company’s dedication to delivering modern fuelling experiences while actively contributing to Pakistan’s economic development and providing both jobs and infrastructure that benefit local communities,” the company said.
Aramco’s expansion aligns with broader Saudi economic outreach to Pakistan. The Kingdom remains one of Pakistan’s largest investors and hosts over 2.7 million Pakistani workers.
